UHIWELLness APP & Fitness Center FAQ

Q: Who can utilize the Shoen Center?
A: The following can utilize the Shoen Center:

  • All active Team Members
  • Spouses on the U-Haul Company Medical Plan
  • Spouses enrolled in one of the Rebate programs (Working Spouse, Military Coverage, Alternative Coverage)
  • Retirees and retiree spouses
Q: Can other family members/friends utilize the gym?

A: Other family members and friends are not authorized to utilize the facility. Children (age 5+) can use only the basketball court on Sundays with their parent team member present. Dependents are unable to use any other facilities or obtain a membership, even if they are on the U-Haul Company Medical Plan.

Q: Is the gym free to Team members?

A: Yes. Membership and use of the gym and fitness areas are free for team members. Group workout classes and personal training have a fee.  Group workout plan options are $7 per class, $200 paid upfront for the year (unlimited classes), or $20 per month for (unlimited classes) paid month per month.  

Q: Can spouses and retirees use all amenities?

A: Spouses, retirees, and retiree spouses are able to utilize all amenities except for the group fitness classes. 

Q: How do I get my spouse a membership?

A: Spouses can obtain a membership at the Recruiting desk located on the first floor of the Shoen Center right when you walk through the main entrance. Spouses will need to bring their driver’s license, debit/credit card, U-Haul Company Medical Plan Card (if applicable), and an active Team Member. The team member is not permitted to purchase a membership for their spouse, and they must both be present during the sign-up process. The spouse membership is an auto-pay month-to-month membership with a $20.00 fee.

Q: How can a retiree obtain a membership?

A: Retirees/retiree spouses can obtain a membership at the Recruiting desk located on the first floor of the Shoen Center right when you walk through the main entrance. Retirees/retiree spouses will need to bring their driver’s license. There is no membership fee for retirees or retiree spouses.

Q: I tried making an account, but the app would not work. How do I fix this so that I can use the gym?

A: Email healthieryou@uhaul.com. The Wellness Team can create a profile for you. You must undergo an eligibility check to confirm employment with U-Haul. Then you will be able to create an account.  

Q: What is the late cancel/no-show fee?

A: There is a $5 charge if a team member cancels within 4-hours of a group workout class or does not show up.    

Q: I do not want to participate in group workout classes. Do I have to download the app UHIWELLNESS and make a Mindbody account?

A: Yes. All team members must download the UHIWELLNESS app and create an account in order to use the basketball court, open gym, indoor track, group exercise classes, or workout rooms.   

Q: I have an issue with a trainer, the gym, or a recommendation. Who can I talk to?
